Over the years I have played hundreds of video pokies online. Once in a while these games stand out as being something truly special, but most times they blur together something fierce creating an experience that I would much rather forget than keep playing. Chimney Stacks by Bally Technologies is one of those games I would rather forget. Things here just don’t blend together well enough for me to care about the title. Why do I feel this way?
Read on to find out.
The overall look of Bally's Chimney Stacks pokie is bright, but ultimately pedestrian. The game carries a theme of chimney sweeps who do their thing, and the reel symbols reflect this a bit, but the inclusion of poker card symbols is damming and I can’t help but think that this game was put together in a manner that rushed it to market.
Animations are similarly stunted, with limited movement being showed off when a win is hit. This causes me to lose interest faster than I normally would, with the game blending into the crowd rather than standing up and being something you will remember.
Gameplay is a bit better than Chimney Stacks’ presentation, with the game’s 40 paylines, Free Spins, Stacked Wilds, and Locking Wilds delivering an experience that can be fun if you let it. I myself enjoyed playing the game for about 10 minutes, but quickly became bored and wanted to move on to other real money pokies.
I started my test session with a $50 balance and quickly saw that money grow thanks to the Locking Wilds. Free Spins also boosted my balance, but I eventually hit a serious funk where I went several spins without even a nickel of a win. In the end I finished at $52.38, which is just about even.
Overall Chimney Stacks is an average, run of the mill pokie that really doesn’t do anything special to earn your attention. The game looks mediocre and is somewhat brought up by its features, but there are many other pokies out there that are more worth your time.
