Star Trek
I am not a big Star Trek fan. I never got into the television shows in the past, and could only tell you a tiny little bit about the plot and characters. That was true until 2009, when the Star Trek reboot film came out. I ended up seeing the movie and fell in love. I really liked that movie, and I also enjoyed the sequel, Star Trek: Into Darkness.
When I found out that IGT had released an online version of the land based pokie that is based on the film, I was very happy. I have wanted to play this pokie for a while, and the fact that I was getting the chance to play it on my computer was a big plus for me.
Does Star Trek live up to the hype?

Graphics and Animations
Graphically, the Star Trek pokie looks very nice, and is a faithful representation of the movie. All of the main characters from the movie are present here, including Kirk, Spock, Uhura, and Scotty all showing up on the reels.

Additionally, there are several other symbols present, including the Star Trek logo, ships, and more. I really like the clean look of all of these symbols, and feel that this is a top-notch graphical experience provided by IGT.
Animations are also very nice here, with the symbols moving occasionally and having some game footage featured as well. I really like everything about this pokie’s looks, and think anyone who enjoyed the movie will as well.
Gameplay
Gameplay wise, Star Trek is a lot of fun to play. I spent about a half hour playing the game and ended up hitting two of the three Bonus Features, which are based either on Spock, Kirk, or Uhura.
Those Bonus Rounds include Free Spins and Win Multipliers, and come quite handy when you are facing a bit of a dry spell. Although the number of features isn’t very high, the frequency of their activation was quite high, at least in my experience.
After my gameplay session, I was up about $400, which was a very nice take for any game, and seeing as how I enjoyed the movie, it makes this win even sweeter.
Summary
Overall, I think that Star Trek is one of the better IGT pokies that I have played in recent memory. I love the way that the game looks and plays, and feel that it does the 2009 film justice by accurately representing the characters and setting.
I definitely recommend you take a look at this game the next time you visit an IGT powered casino. The game is a ton of fun.
